Behind the Scenes at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament in Myrtle Beach
Greetings, lords and ladies! I'm Genevieve, your veteran wench blogger, sharing exclusive insights from the dais at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament in beautiful Myrtle Beach, S.C. With years of experience, I'll reveal daily life at the castle and share fascinating medieval history.
For first-time visitors, Medieval Times offers a thrilling, family-friendly feast and tournament set in 11th-century Spain. As honored guests, savor a delicious four-course banquet while witnessing breathtaking horsemanship, falconry, music, and intense tournament games. Cheer loudly for one of our six Knights of the Realm—typically the one in your seating section—or root for them all!

Experience it yourself—it's unforgettable! Our newest show premiered this summer, featuring innovative elements. Our magnificent horses shine, opening with the enchanting Liberty Horse, an Andalusian stallion. This 1,300-pound performer executes gravity-defying steps perfectly synced to the new Medieval Times soundtrack—a captivating spectacle. All our horses are bred and trained exclusively for Medieval Times, receiving top care from expert trainers.
The production boasts more live jousting, swordplay, and falconry. Award-winning composer Daniel May, who scored IMAX films and features, crafted the soundtrack—his third for us—starting in fall 2010. It perfectly enhances the dinner and tournament experience.
I must prepare for the next show, but here's exciting news: The production includes a new storyline, lighting, choreography, battle scenes, costumes, horse dressage, and a custom score recorded in Kiev, Ukraine.
