Safe Family Fun at Ripley's Aquarium and Rockin' Jump: Myrtle Beach Attractions with Enhanced COVID Safety
After nearly six months at home, I took my boys to two of Myrtle Beach's top kid-friendly attractions for the first time since February: Ripley's Aquarium at Broadway at the Beach and Rockin' Jump trampoline park. As season pass holders, we arrived at the aquarium right at opening on a Monday morning to avoid crowds—and it exceeded our expectations. The boys, thrilled to be out, wore masks (as did I), ready to leave if it got busy. South Carolina's 50% capacity limit ensured plenty of space.

The boys saw penguins for the first time—a highlight—and explored for hours. Touch exhibits like the horseshoe crab tank were closed, but they didn't mind, overjoyed to be out. Sanitizing stations were plentiful, with clear social distancing signs and mask requirements. The facility was impeccably clean, and visitors followed guidelines well. We'll return before preschool resumes.
A few days later, for my middle child's third birthday, we visited Rockin' Jump—his favorite Myrtle Beach spot. We arrived at opening for the 'Rockin' Tots' session (9-11 a.m., just $13 for an adult and two kids for two hours). No crowds, easy entry with reduced capacity.

Masks are required for ages 10+, but I had the boys wear theirs for good habits. Sanitizing stations, temperature checks, distancing reminders, and daily EPA-approved fogging against SARS-CoV-2 made it feel secure. We'll be back for more morning jumps.

Our six months outdoors in Myrtle Beach, SC, was a gift, but safely enjoying indoor favorites again is wonderful. We look forward to supporting these attractions.
