MSC Seaside: The Revolutionary Cruise Ship Transforming Caribbean Voyages

As part of our firsthand research, we recently sailed aboard the acclaimed MSC Seaside to uncover the source of its buzz.

It's well-deserved. Billed as a Caribbean cruise innovator, MSC Seaside delivers a series of unforgettable experiences, from exquisite pan-Asian cuisine at celebrity chef Roy Yamaguchi's first-at-sea venue, Asian Market Kitchen, to more highlights below. We've included expert tips for maximizing each one, plus insights from Travelzoo Senior Editor Gabe Saglie.

1. Maximize Outdoor Fun Under the Sun

Designed for tropical destinations and nicknamed "the ship that follows the sun," MSC Seaside offers the highest outdoor space per passenger of any Caribbean cruise ship. Highlights include glass catwalks suspended over 100 feet above the sea, balconies on more than 75% of cabins, and outdoor dining options nearly everywhere—even the two daytime buffets feature al fresco seating.

Tip: For stunning sunsets, visit the Miramar Bar on Deck 19, a prime vantage point.

2. Thrill on the Longest Zip Lines at Sea

A single 350-foot zip line would be groundbreaking—over four times longer than existing ones at sea. But MSC Seaside features two side-by-side, letting you race friends from midship to aft at speeds up to 18 mph. Gabe Saglie tested it for us.

Tip: Save with a weeklong unlimited pass for $20 per cabin (single rides are $5). Pack a long-sleeve shirt and closed-toe shoes, as they're required.

3. Unwind in the Largest Balinese Spa at Sea

Achieve ultimate relaxation at the 26,000-square-foot MSC Aurea Spa. Signature treatments include the Bali Sunrise Lulur, a exfoliating, hydrating, aromatherapy facial and body ritual for radiant skin.

Other highlights: Sangiovese Velvet Body Treatment and Cabernet Sauvignon Firming Facial—exclusive vinotherapy using wines from Andrea Bocelli's Tuscany family vineyards.

No treatment needed? Access thermal suites (snow room, Himalayan salt room, saunas, steam rooms) unlimited for a week at $90.

For extra luxury, book an oceanview cabana for open-air treatments and dedicated service. Tip: At $180 per couple for half a day, it's an affordable taste of the exclusive MSC Yacht Club.

4. Book the First Interconnecting Cabins for Groups Up to 10

Families no longer need pricey suites to stay together. MSC Seaside's innovative interconnecting cabins in various categories connect affordably for larger groups.

Tip: Equip kids with an MSC for Me bracelet to track their location. They'll love the arcade, 4D VR games, full-size bowling alley, and pizza at Biscayne Bay Buffet & Pizzeria.

5. Experience the First Slideboarding at Sea

Blending outdoor adventure and tech, Slideboarding combines 367-foot dual waterslides with interactive video-game rafts that track scores. It's competitive fun at its best.

Tip: Like Guitar Hero on water—study the board beforehand to react quickly.
