New Orleans is known for its unique cemeteries (unique implies there aren’t others). These breathtaking, above-ground tombs are the resting grounds of countless well-known New Orleanians including Marie Laveau and Homer Plessy of the landmark Supreme Court case Plessy v. Ferguson.
