Top Travel Finds We re Obsessed With This Month - Vol. 10

In an effort to uncover the best in travel, we spend a lot of time traversing the world — and the world wide web. Here are the goods we can't stop thinking and talking about this month.

Sunday Somewhere Soelae Sunglasses

I am long overdue for a new pair of shades, and this chic pair is at the top of my wishlist. The half-black, half-tortoiseshell design feels classic — with a twist! — and will go with pretty much every outfit I have on rotation this summer. ($279) – Berit, editor

Brilliant Bicycle Co. L Train Commuter Bike

Fellow North Brooklynites, check it out: NYC-based Brilliant Bicycle Co. has designed a semi-affordable, limited-edition two-wheeler for those impacted by the impending L train shutdown. Anyone can purchase the bike, but the top-of-the-line Shimano V brakes and grease-free belt drive, which can go for thousands of miles without a lube or tune up, seem particularly well-equipped for the hectic commute. ($650) – Daniel, editorial assistant

Herschel's Voyage Poncho

For outdoor summer spectating (think baseball games and music festivals), lightweight rain gear comes in handy. I'm feeling Herschel's new wind-resistant, water-repellant double-snap poncho with legendary urban artist Keith Haring's enduring designs. ($70) – Jeralyn, editorial director

Missoni Mare Tunic

I fell hard for a Missoni dress on the Amalfi Coast a few weeks ago and didn't buy it. Wearing this coverup for the rest of the summer in the Hamptons will keep the Italian seaside vibe molto vivo. As an unnecessary bonus, "mare" means "sea" in Italian. ($920) – Pavia, CEO

Carrie Portable Lamp

The Danes wrote the book on coziness, so it's no surprise that they've created the perfect accessory to set the mood anywhere. The portable lamp is USB-chargeable, has a three-step dimmer function, lasts up to five hours per charge, and comes with a detachable handle. I want to bring this on all future camping trips, rooftop dinners, and late-night walks on the beach. ($150) – Becky, contributing editor

Dandy Farmer Bonsai Tree

Historically a serial plant killer, I've finally succeeded at keeping one alive thanks to the help and guidance of my local florist. Next on my list: a modern bonsai tree from Brooklyn-based Dandy Farmer. You can visit them in person at Canal Street Market (through spring 2018) or their Westerlind NYC pop-up (through July 31, 2017). They also ship within the United States. (From $80) – Berit

"Wanderlust: A Hiker's Companion"

I probably won't make it to any of the legendary hiking trails chronicled in this well-photographed coffee table book this summer. But, hey, there's always fall, right? ($47) – Daniel

The Surf Shop of Stephane

It's summer, so I want to smell the waxy, salty, clean surf always, especially at home. (€35) – Kate, contributing editor

Nature Republic Ice Puff Sunblock

I hate summers in New York City. It's hot and humid, and the subway is the worst. Thank goodness for the magical sunblock/foundation/skin-cooling invention I found on my last trip to Korea. You shake the bottle really hard, pump the top a few times to get the solution onto the sponge hidden under the cover, then pat it all over your face for UV protection and a cooling sensation. I don't understand how it works, but it does, and this past week has me tempted to be that girl who puts on makeup in the subway car. ($30) – Becky

Adventure Assist

Just in time for my summer vacation, this notebook will prove useful for planning and traveling. Divided into seven sections, it covers logistics like packing, transportation, and to-do lists, while also designating space for observations, sketches, and contact details. ($35) – Helena, editorial intern

Seed + Mill Halva Box

I am totally turned on by a lightweight dessert in this summer heat, so I'm taking my cues from the gastronomy of the Middle East (where desert dining is done best). Halva, the crumbly treat made of sesame, sugar, honey, and nuts, is gluten-free and decadent but won't drag you down. I'm bringing a box of the best to my next outdoor dinner party. ($30) – Jeralyn

Jolie Brass Bar Cart

I fell in love with everything at Flemings Mayfair hotel in June, in particular the decor at Manetta's Bar for the pictures of famous authors (Gertrude Stein, Oscar Wilde) and their gorgeous, minimalist bar cart. This one comes close in style (and makes me thirsty for a negroni). ($1,499) – Pavia

  • Fathom Editors Must-Have Picks Right Now: Gigi Beret Edition - Vol. 22

Gigi BeretThe temperature drops five degrees and Im already thinking about hats and sweaters. Cut me some slack! Winter is longer and more cruel in these parts, so this classically Parisian accessory by Hansel from Basel (in wool and mohair) feels like it could be a bright spot in a cold, dark future ($128). – Jeralyn, editorial directorFlamingo Smoking SlipperUnlike Jeralyn, I want to keep summer alive as long as possible.
