Formed in 1971, the community hosts environmental workshops, agro-tourism experiences, and spiritual retreats all year long, but its official population registers under 200. Its most famous resident is Ina May Gaskin, the mother of modern midwifery. The new feature-length documentary:Birth Story: Ina May Gaskin and The Farm Midwives traces her journey from idealistic hippie youth to champion of women all around the world. And what better setting for watching nature at work than the wild Tennessee landscape? LA-based filmmakers Sara Lamm and Mary Wigmore give us a glimpse of what life is like on The Farm today.
