Sunset Ridge Campground is located just a short walk to the shore of beautiful Lake Russell and within 1 mile of a public boat ramp. The campground has extra-large sites for big RVs, tent sites, full electric and sewer hookups, picnic tables, fire ring grills, and a clean shower house with hot showers and laundry.
Luxury camping cabins also are available. Each cabin is equipped with two full beds, a small refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, alarm clock radios, 22-inch flat screen TV, picnic table and charcoal grill. Guests must bring linens and pillows.
Lake Russell is a 26,000-acre lake with 540 miles of shoreline located between Lake Hartwell and Lake Clarke Hill. Lake levels are always maintained, and it is well marked. Lake Russell has excellent fishing, and nearby Army Corps of Engineers property has free hunting. Local activities include Arrowhead Golf Course at R.B. Russell State Park, hiking, hunting, mountain biking, boating, canoeing, kayaking and horseback riding.
