Completed in 1863, the Storybook Inn Bed and Breakfast sits in the historic Rose Hill section of charming downtown Versailles, Kentucky. Set among lush grounds, the main house welcomes guests with a stately entrance and warm hospitality.
Just minutes from the famed Keeneland Racecourse—where the sport of kings continues to thrive—and within close proximity to Lexington’s fine dining, vineyards, horse farms, and historic sites such as Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill, the Inn offers a captivating retreat from the everyday.
Guests can enjoy leisurely gourmet breakfasts in our European‑style dining room. Homemade pastries and refreshments are available in the common area, and we happily accommodate special dietary needs—just let us know in advance.
The rooms feature private baths and either queen or king‑size beds. Each space includes an armoire, television, VCR, desk, walk‑in closet, and mini‑refrigerator. With over 7,000 sq. ft., the Inn also boasts a working elevator for heavy luggage or weary travelers.
Imagine a summer night on the large Victorian‑style cushioned swing along the 34‑foot screened porch, moonlight filtering through, honeysuckle scent in the air, and the gentle sounds of a restored 100‑plus‑year‑old stone pond. Soft night music, speakers hidden among the foliage, create a romantic ambience. Guests can also relax under the stars on the new stone patio above the pond, overlooking a rose garden and ivy‑covered ancient brick wall.
Nearby Big Spring Park offers a 2‑mile walking trail behind the Inn. Think elegance, think romance, and enjoy a world‑apart escape while remaining close to everything—this is the Storybook Inn.
