Red Bug Motors offers a fun, eco-friendly vehicle to tour Jekyll Island. These fun to drive cars are available in a 2, 4, and 6 passenger versions. Red bugs are Global Electric Motorcar (GEM) electric cars, and are equipped with seat belts, roll bar, lockable rear trunk, windshield wipers, head lights, turn indicators, rotating beacon, horn, rear view mirrors and an instrument panel that indicates speed, mileage and battery level. The Red Bug travels up to 25 miles per hour and has a range of approximately 40 miles on a full charge. If you fly directly into Jekyll Island Airport, or arrive by RV and want an easy, economical way to get around the island, or just want to park the family car and save gas, Red Bug Motors is the ideal choice for alternative transportation.
